Excise Tax Inspection App with Cross-Agency Data Integration
We designed and built a mobile app for Thailand's Excise Department so field officers can verify excise tax payments on the spot. It draws on data from related government agencies, which makes each check quicker and less error-prone.
About the project
The project made tax inspection in the public sector faster and removed duplicated steps and lookups. We designed the app from the point of view of the person standing at the inspection site: one phone, limited time, and a need for an answer they can trust.

What the client needed, and how we approached it.
Field officers have to verify excise tax payments across many product categories, but the old process meant looking up data from several agencies separately. It was slow and easy to get wrong, especially with many items to check in a day and weak signal at some sites.
We built a mobile app that lets officers verify and confirm tax payments directly on-site. They scan a product code and see the status at once, and data from the related agencies appears in one place, so nobody has to switch between systems.
Our Approach
Process Immersion
We gathered the tax verification steps and the agencies involved, and looked at what information an officer has to open each time they run a check.
UX/UI Design
We designed the app to be comfortable for officers even in the field, with large controls, results readable at a glance and one-handed use.
Mobile App Development
We built a stable, fast app for on-site verification, which keeps working when the internet connection is patchy.
Cross-Agency Data Integration
We connected databases from the related agencies and brought the results into one app so data stays consistent everywhere.
UI Solution 01
